The Seed of Hope
Petals of Hope International (PHI) emerged from Tony and Beth Weedor's vision to use education to brighten the futures of young girls in Liberia. Motivated by their faith and a desire to empower, they established PHI to lift girls from poverty and inequality by providing quality education and holistic support. They championed the belief that every child deserves to learn and dream, regardless of their background.
PHI quickly evolved from a modest classroom into a community cornerstone, thanks to the Weedors' dedication and widespread support. It's now a symbol of how faith, love, and education can uplift lives, teaching girls to recognize their value, aim high, and lead. PHI's curriculum merges academic rigor with Christian principles, preparing students to be community changemakers.
Tony Weedor's legacy, especially his view of joy from faith as a strength, remains a core inspiration at PHI. His dream was not merely about education but about kindling hope and joy in children, encouraging them to look past their immediate surroundings. As PHI aims to grow its impact, it continues the work Tony and Beth started, with each graduating girl bringing Tony's vision of transformative education and empowerment closer to reality.
